PART A
Part A is Inpatient Care for services like hospital stays, skilled nursing facilities, hospice care, some home health care. It does not cover long term care or custodial care.
Most beneficiaries don’t pay a monthly premium for Part A if they or their spouse has worked at least 40 quarters and paid Medicare taxes.
ORIGINAL MEDICARE
PART B
Part B is Outpatient Care for services like doctor office visits, diagnostic tests, physical, speech or occupational therapy, DME, and preventive care services.
Most beneficiaries pay a standard monthly premium for Part B which is based on your gross income reported to the IRS.

Part C is known as Medicare Advantage plans. These are Medicare approved managed care plans offered by private insurance companies.
These plans offer benefits covered by Part A and Part B, often Part D, and additional benefits like dental, vision or hearing.

Part D are Prescription Drug Plans offered by private insurance companies and are available to anyone on Original Medicare. You can either get Part D coverage in a stand alone plan or coverage that is built into a Medicare Advantage plan.

PLANS A-N
To purchase a Medigap plan, you must be enrolled in Original Medicare Part A and Part B. These plans are offered by private insurance companies to help fill in the coverage gaps from Original Medicare Part A and Part B. It does not
have Part D coverage so a stand alone prescription drug plan may be purchased.
